Pennsylvania Chippendale mahogany tall case clock, c. 1765. The silvered dial is engraved “Willm Houston, Philadelphia.”

The clock’s works were made by William Houston, a Philadelphia clock maker. This is a fine example of a high style Philadelphia clock with an elaborate case carved by John Pollard. The face shows the seconds, minutes, hours, date and lunar day and phase.
