You’re invited to discover 18th-century art, architecture, and history at Woodford. Centrally located in East Fairmount Park in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood, we are open five days a week, year round.

We regularly welcome schools, educators, and students to Woodford. We kindly ask that all field trip requests are made two weeks in advance. We can modify the tour to fit seamlessly within your curriculum, whether you’re studying colonial history, art, gardens, or architecture. All mansion tours are led by our knowledgeable guides to safeguard you, the collection, and the historic home. If you arrive and a tour is in progress, kindly explore the gardens on your own. Please ring the bell and/or call us at 215-229-6115 and a guide will retrieve you shortly.

The tours are roughly one hour, and include all three stories of the home. During certain special events (such as Apple Fest or holiday tours), we host abbreviated tours that last 30 minutes and focus strictly on the first floor.

Absolutely! We welcome all educators and students to Woodford. Kindly fill out our field trip request form via this link to arrange your tour. We are happy to coordinate with your curriculum, tailoring the tour to your lesson plan.
We typically require two weeks to prepare for field trips.

Yes, a public restroom for visitors to the mansion is available on the first floor. Entrance to the first floor requires six stair steps.

Entering the mansion requires six stair steps. Upper levels of the house are only reached by staircases.
If you or someone in your party has limited mobility, please note that all staircases have guard rails, and we are happy to provide chairs to sit and listen throughout the tour. In addition, guests arriving by car may be dropped off in front of the main entrance before the driver parks in the back.

Food and drink are not allowed inside the mansion. Picnic tables available onsite are surrounded by a picket fence. You are welcome to bring a snack or picnic lunch and enjoy the grounds to the fullest.

As an 18th-century home, we do not have the facilities to accomodate private event rentals at the mansion. In some circumstances, we allow outdoor programming. For consideration, please email woodfordmansion@gmail.com.

Yes, you are allowed to take personal photos both inside and outside the museum. We do not allow selfie sticks, tripods, or flash photography.
